Manchester United agree £19 million deal for defender

MANCHESTER UNITED TO SIGN DALOT

Manchester United have agreed a fee to sign Diogo Dalot according to widespread reports in Manchester Evening News.

The right-back is set to join from FC Porto for a reported fee of £19 million. He is set to be the second signing of the summer for the Red Devils with Fred set to complete him move in the coming hours.

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich were also said to be interested in the 19-year-old defender but there was no move made by the two sides.

Jose Mourinho’s side showed interest last week and have now sealed the deal as per the report. He is set to fly in later this week to have his medical and complete the move.

Dalot has a year remaining on his contract and has not signed a new one. He has a £17.5 million release clause coming into effect on 30th June but Manchester United are not willing wait that long to sign him up.

Thus, United have paid £1.5 million over the clause to complete the deal. He is just recovering from a knee injury but that is not expected to be a stumbling block in his medical.
