Anthony Martial has rejected several contract offers from Manchester United as per reports in RMC Sport. The Frenchman is not happy with his playing time at Old Trafford and wants assurance before penning the new deal.
Martial’s current deal expires at the end of the season but United have the option of extending it by another year. He is one of the 11 players whose deal expires in the summer of 2019, but the club is expected to extend 4-5 of the deals by another year.
Jose Mourinho is not a big fan of the forward and has been using him as a substitute more often than not. The manager was not happy with the Frenchman’s behaviour during the pre-season tour of USA and has been opening criticising the forward.
Manchester United are keen on keeping Martial at the club for a long time and believe that he has a huge role to play at the club. The £58 million signing from AS Monaco has been in talks with the club regarding a new deal since August but has now made it clear that he will not be signing a new deal unless his situation changes.
Rumour Rating: 7/10
RMC Sport are probably the best source for news and rumours related to the French football. They were the first to report the transfer of Martial to United back in 2015.
Given his situation at United, there is no surprise that he is taking time before penning a new deal. The forward wants to play regularly and knows that he needs game time to make it back into the French national team.
