Antoine Griezmann has finally got his dream move to FC Barcelona and it’s nothing short of controversial. Atletico Madrid are still trying to get another €80 million from the Catalan side, who are reluctant to get dragged into it.
The Frenchman was taking part in his first training session at the club and it did not get off to a good start. Griezmann was nutmegged twice in quick succession and was embarrassed both times.
Barcelona activated Griezmann’s €120 million release clause and unveiled the forward on Sunday. Atletico claim that they are owed another €80 million as the release clause was at €200 million when the Catalan side agreed a deal with the Frenchman, ie before July 1st, when the clause came down to €120 million.
The Madrid side released a statement the stated that the striker and Barcelona held talks in February and had a deal in place from March. They believe they are entitled to getting the whole €200 million and have decided to take it up with La Liga.
